Upwelling in a Changing Climate: Pro-Active Self-Care to Share
This course will interactively introduce you to your own body’s marvelous ability to remember health. Regenerative hands-on applications that awaken nervous system and whole-being balance will be introduced for resilience that strengthens and builds as it is shared in community.
As a certified Self-Care Teacher and Advanced Practitioner of the TARA Approach for the Resolution of Shock and Trauma, I have been actively engaged in learning, practicing, and sharing its Tools for Awakening Resources and Awareness since 2014. I’ve enjoyed deep and ongoing healing by it, and am passionate about sharing this uplifting art. Self-care based, this holistic and clinically tested system empowers each of us to regeneratively reclaim and sustain our essential self with our own hands, heart, and mind.
Similar to discovering an amazingly useful and already-downloaded app on your smart phone, “The TARA App” helps you to com-passionately engage and explore your unique, innate design that has been here all along! As bioelectric beings, we each embody a map of 26 pairs of meridian-based energy centers that correlate to specific body-mind states. In the energy medicine system of Jin Shin TARA, we engage these sites which hold the memory of our prenatal development. Gently touching into them with awareness, we access our resource of innate intelligence to sense stuck patterns and new options; activate the healing response; awaken to vitality and harmony.
Just as a gardener tends her land, we make the pilgrimage to these Sacred Sites of our own landscape to enact renewal from ground up. As certain series of hand placements relate to certain conditions, we can address imbalances like anxiety; asthma; allergies; exhaustion; focus; depression; addictions; insomnia. We’ll get to know ourselves and Mother Earth better as we explore how the Elements of Nature are in interplay and expressing themselves in our own living bodies, and will also enjoy exploring this with some somatic movements.
This course is for those ready for transformation. The increase in climate-related changes is intensifying a variety of stressful health challenges within which people seek new coping skills, including psycho-emotional ones. Especially as regular healthcare services we are used to using are not always accessible in times of flood, fire, and other shocking events, we can prepare ourselves and our communities with these sustainable resources in our own hands. More balance in our own being will also open us to more balance in our relationship with Earth, helping us access the wisdom of Mother Nature that resonates within us as inner guidance and prepares us to act for the benefit of all.
Cultivating care begins with you, and these self-compassion practices translate easily. This can be the start of a lifelong daily practice, and can complement other healing arts.
